Re: 1964 Starcraft Jet - Rebuild

Thanks guys.... I feel honored! :highly_amused:

Juniper is running great now that the motor is raised up a notch.... doesn't feel like it is dragging anymore and the porposing is gone as well! Added 3 of those SS grab handles inside as well... working well!!

J.

Do you have a photo of the current mounting position of the motor on the Jup? Since you have already found the sweet spot for the best performance it would help a ton.
I haven't done any real testing on my Jupiter with the 115 yet and may have to move it up some as well.

Thanks.

Thanks fellas!

JC --- I went one hole down from the top --- which raises the motor up about an inch give or take. It will cavitate easier --- but it doesn't feel like I am dragging an anchor back there anymore!

Hope that helps!

I love that pneumatic shock on the back, I would have never thought of doing something like that, great idea.

this has been a really strange build to watch for me. for the past few years i have been designing a 16' starcraft, black and polished (but with a polished topside) and a tan interior with a sunning bed on the stern. the only real difference is i was going to do a seadoo motor conversion to get more space for the bed and allow me to build a nice swim patform. really crazy when your boat came out black! but it looks great and i am obviously inspired even more now! so that you and congrats on another beauty.

Rotate them before you up load and check your photobucket settings and make sure the auto rotate on upload feature is off.It may only be able to be changed when you up load pics.

Thanks fellas! Nice to see it up and out of the hanger!

POB -- nice model... just needs to grow about a 1000% and you've got the real deal!! :)

JB - Merc is stayin' with me man! This one has a completely rebuilt 89' Johnny --- actually it's an 82' model with a rebuilt 89 head! Picking it up tonight and installing it this weekend.

Jas --- thanks man. This one's gonna have an American flag flying at the stern!

Should be wrapped up this weekend with the motor installed that's about it!!

Take care fellas... gonna be lake bound for a few weeks!

Just catching up after vacation. Looks real nice, I'll be curious to see how she rides once you get it splashed. The black over aluminum looks real sharp.
