1965 40hp electric shift lube

i put this motor on my sisters boat a few days ago, we put in 85-90w lube, should i flush it out with somthing else? what is the proper lube for an old push button shift evenrude? did i screw somthing up by putting the wrong stuff in?

flush it out and use what johnson calls a "premium blend" also known at type c. the motor will not shift using anything but this oil. unfortunetly i just had this problem. it shouldnt have messed anything up tho.
