1965 Glasspar Seafair - Floor replacement

Hello everyone, I must apologize ahead of my post for being so new at all of this..

I'm looking for advise/tips/suggestions on replacing the floor on my newly acquired 1965 Glasspar Seafair Sedan.
I'm pretty handy for the most part and from all the research I've done it seems like even though this job is time consuming, and not fun, it is doable with basic skills/knowledge. However what I can't seem to locate is exactly what needs to be acquired for such a project (other than marine plywood).
Could you guys help me out? Literally looking for a list of items and quantities if possible. If you have label suggestions too that would be even better.

first, welcome aboard

second, go to the top of the forum, there are 4 stickies there. the Third has links that are specific to boat hull repair.

specifically look at links 14, 15, 18, 2, 3, 4a, and 4b in that specific order. look at every video. look at every picture.

all the information you need is in those links.

as far as "label suggestions" avoid anything from a box store. you want to visit your local fiberglass supplier. resin needs to be fresh. if you are shipping to your house, remember, resin has EPA hazmat charges.

lastly, if the floor is rotten, you need to do a full gut-n-rebuild. the floor was the last thing to rot. all that is covered in link 14

I agree with Scott. Days of reading and watching YouTube videos, but you'll start to get the feel for what needs to be done. Take notes. BoatworksToday on YouTube has a link to their Amazon cart where you can see a lot of the consumables they recommend. US Composites is a great place to buy your glass and resin from if you're shipping. I was going to buy marine grade plywood but ended up going with ACX exterior grade plywood - I was able to find the 3/4" sheets at Home Depot and the 1/2" sheets at a local lumber supplier.

I bought 50 yards of 1.5 oz CSM and 50 yards of 1708 biaxial cloth. It was way too much CSM, and a little too much 1708, but I didn't want to run out. I've gone through 20 gallons of 435 polyester resin, and am probably going to use around 10 more before I'm done. I'll have gone through 8 gallons of cabosil, and the 4lb tub of 1/2" chopped strand fibers should last me through my project. Because of the pandemic and the short supply / high demand, you need to budget for nitrile gloves. They have more than doubled in price, and some of the ones sold online which are listed as 4 mil are nowhere near that, and they don't hold up at all, so you end up burning through them faster.

In my opinion local is the way to go. I paid a little more for it but the convenience of getting it when I need it was worth it. Also the the staff at my local place was extremely helpful making sure I had the right stuff and made sure I knew the process.

Hey guys,

So it's been kind of rainy here but luckily it hasn't affected this project too much, just delayed it..Now I'm finally getting ready to start laying down fiberglass and new plywood. However my question is about putting in chairs.

I bought 2 helm seats on a pedestal (used), and I'm not certain if I should use the open floor to my advantage or seal everything up and just mount them through the top.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

What I plan on doing for mine is adding a 12x12 square piece of ply (with edges cut at a 45 for glassing purposes and a better transition for the carpeting). Glass the deck then glue these down with PB and glass over then use lags that will not penetrate through the piece with 5200 in the holes. My idea on that is if water gets in the holes for the lag bolts rot should not make it to the deck because the base is completely separate. I did add some extra support where the seats will be located.
