I'm starting to wonder if there is something about these boats and that speed

I have my jetstar over powered (65hp), and I have tried a bunch of different props, the only way I can get over 33mph is to underprop and overrev my engine...

So IMO your doing great with that speed! :)

But then again I may be doing it all wrong ;)

How do you have her trimmed? How heavy is the engine (my 30 is 185 lbs)? In your picture the bimini top is up. Is it up during speed runs? Those things create a lot of drag.

the 650 should be around 220lbs, and I took it out of my truck by my self to hang on the stand...
that hurt a lil :p

I tried it with the top up and down no real difference, maybe 1-3mph.

I played with the trimming while doing speed runs to see if I could change it, nothing.. other than the way it took off and leveled out
Right now when taking off the bow will lift up, then the boat levels out at about 15mph (favorite spot since it takes jumps out of the water better).

The engine is sitting maybe a little to far down, and could be raised by 2-3in, so that might be related...
I screwed up when drilling the transom, so it's stuck there unless I want to drill more holes :(

and no change in speed if I drag my kicker in the down pos or up.
