1965 Johnson 3HP JW20B -> What gearcase oil should I use?

I changed the gearcase oil in my little 3hp motor with Pennzoil 75W90 fully synthetic gearcase oil. That's what I use on my Mercury sterndrive, and it says it's good for all gearcases.

My Johnson "owners" manual for the 3HP Johnson says to use OMC Type C gearcase oil, but it doesn't give the specification of what that is.

Just so it's marine application gearcase lube, you're good to go.

Yes it is Pennzoil marine gearcase oil. So I should be ok then.

You should be good, I usually use a marine 80/90 weight oil, but you should be fine.
