Wow, a '65, is it steel, you would think it woud have to be or you have one of the first aluminum toons made, aluminum welding was still really really young back then.
As to the comapny I have never heard of them but there have been thousands of regional boat builders over the years, some only lasting a few years and anything pre internet can be hard to find online unless there is an owners group or something.
A far as power I think you are looking at a pretty small engine, I am probably wrong but a 115 was about the biggest there was back then and noone was putting them on a toon so probably 20 or so and that is a geuss.
Get some pics up if you can I would be interested to see what this looks like.
Also know that you will never ever get your money back from his boat, the cost of a restore will be way more than you could ever sell it for.
