Darned right, WELL DONE--Good determination! Time to enjoy for a few weeks. Slow it down like mellow says-- the standard, full throttle is supposed to be only 4800-5200 on that one. So, now go find some props! Congrats!! :D

Martyt: You're welcome--took plenty of your effort, I'm sure. Enjoy and be safe! By the way, did you use the plug wire fix and, if so, how did it work out? Regards, NEECA :D

GUYS! what't the firing order on this particular motor? I have a 1965 1110 Six 110HP mercury outboard and was wondering if my cables are mixed up!

Re: 1965 merc 1000 100hp Won't start?

ararathe, Hi--welcome! My data doesn't cover the 1100 very well. (Didn't know there was an 1110.) Firing order for the 1000 is 1-4-5-2-3-6. The 1100 may be different. My manual shows different plug lead numbering for the 1100SS. For 1100SS it shows printed, (not molded) numbers on the cap, between the terminal bosses. Number 1 is even with the left end of the mounting face for the side port coil lead, looking from the BOTTOM. From there, going counterclockwise, the numbers are 4, 5, 2, 3, and 6.pp If yours happens to be the same as the 1000, then the numbers are, from the same #1 terminal, going CLOCKWISE, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Yours is probably the one that's closest to either of these wiring patterns-- sorry I can't be more certain than that! If you get the wrong one, it may not even start, or may backfire or kickback-BADLY! Good Luck! :)
