Hey all, I'm looking for a replacement prop for my boat and having a hard time with it. It is a 1965 35HP, 11 spline. The number on the prop is 48 38094a1 12P, I believe it's a 10 3/4 x 12" prop. Through hub exhaust as well. The hub is blown out of it (Slides on the shaft) and the blades are pretty bad. Are there any replacements out there? I think I'd be OK going up or down 1 on the pitch. The boat is a Starcraft Siren 14' fiberglass, it's very light boat. Currently it runs OK and does about 20MPH, but takes a long time to plane out.

48-38094A1 is the OEM part number from Mercury.. It is a 12 pitch.
The OEM part number can be found in the chart seen below that fits your engine model. Can't seem to locate a in stock OEM part number through iboats at the moment and I believe just about one of the only places you might be able to find something to fit is here, http://propcopropellers.com/mercury_Outboard_Propellers.htm
If Using Uncupped Propellers, Use Cupped Propellers With 2" Less Pitch. Boats With Power Trim May Use Same Pitch.
AL = Aluminum, APPL = Application, C = Cruise, HL = Heavy Load, LL = Light Load,
MAT = Material, SW = Semi Weedless, SS = Stainless Steel, W = Weedless
QRJ-T 4-Blade Gives Better Holeshot, Less Torque on Steering, Better Boat handling, Lower planing Speeds.

That looks like the one! Now, is there anywhere I can find a new thrust washer? The one on the engine now is pretty worn. Also, I'm not sure if this engine came with a lock washer behind the prop nut, but there isn't one on there. The whole lower unit came from a salvage yard, so I'm not at all sure how it's supposed to be set up.

Wow, thanks for the info! That will definitely help. I forgot to mention, mine is serial number 1838819. So I ordered #70 through 74 on the gear housing assembly page 2 list. There was also a backing washer on there. I'm not sure I need everything, but I should have all bases covered now. Now all tha'ts left is to stack it all together I guess. So, if I'm looking at it properly, it goes backing washer first, then thrust hub and washer assembly, then prop, then cupped washer, then splinder washer, then nut. Mine was missing a few parts from that list, so I'm not entirely sure how it goes back together being so different from modern assemblies.

Well I got it all put together. The thrust washer on there looks different from the one I bought. It's made of brass and is cupped on the lower unit side. There was no backing washer, and the lower unit and prop wore into each other about 1/8" from my little test run last week leaving a little gap between it and the prop face. With the new one installed, the backing washer was not needed and everything lines up now. I used the 3 parts linked by Funtimes, and the old thrust hub could be re used with a backing washer also installed. Hopefully this will work well. Next it's time to retire this dinged up prop with a new or old stock one. Thanks for the help!

The link Fun Times gave to Propco is the only place to find a new 11 spline prop. I got one earlier in the year and they are good people to work with and the prop is well made.

Glad to hear a good report. I found a used bronze 12 pitch one that will work for now, but definitely want a new one. Do the Propco ones have the same rubber style hubs as the old props or do they use the newer removable ones?
