Haha, nice to see some replies here, despite the growing mob.

I forgot my damn SLR at home (this was all at the cottage), and I have an ancient iPhone 3G that is embarrassing, and yes I have photo bucket haha.

I know I have a picture of my three dogs riding in the back taken from the drivers seat on my phone, but that may be it. I've sent out a request to my guests, telling them any pictures would be appreciated to avoid ruining my good name on iboats.

Haha, yah I think 22 litres is good, it was just skiing, no tubing yet although I used to tube behind my uncles 30hp tin boat and had a blast then so I'm sure it'll be fine. All in all I'm happy, realize I paid a little much, but got a solid boat and motor, low maintenance.

Ok here's what I have so far from the guests: a single picture with most of the boat obscured my my matching vintage cooler lol.

Me, the GF and the dog all getting ready to cross to her water access cottage. The old Starcraft was pure luxury in comparison to the lil 15 HP tiller tinny we usually use.

hey, if you can take it out right after purchase with that few issues, you got a good deal for you. that's one of the more water ready boats i've seen on here. most people's "before" pix show mostly fodder for the Homecoming bonfire.... i had to scrap astroturf off my dashboard, and there are dark rumors about starmadans who sold their soul for a little infernal help removing wet foam or bedliner....

would love to see more action pix of it.

with a boat that old, you should look very hard at adding as much flotation as possible, and a new, known reliable bilge pump. even if the factory stuff is in great shape (that on both my 65 Holiday and my 64 Starchief was), there likely ain't enough of it. just keep the boat aggressively covered to preserve that transom and floor and the open cell foam under that floor.....

Hey thanks for the reply. I will definitely try to get more pictures in the near future.

Actually there is no wood in the boat except for the transom and the dash, there is no floor. The flotation foam is tucked under the seats and front bow and actually looks to be in good shape. That's why I wanted this boat, basically nothing to rot/replace except for the transom some day but its solid for now (I suppose I should repaint it though?).

Right now it's under a storage cover up at the cottage, but the place it will be stored at has a boat house where it can live so should be good in that sense.

It maybe an electric shift motor, but they work pretty good as long as the electric shift solenoids hold up.

Else, nice:) I would easily have that in mine if it were sticking around. Plus all the work for free:facepalm:

Well I managed to get back up to the cottage this weekend and play around with the Dart on lovely Ahmic Lake, this lake system has 4 connected lakes and 40 miles of boating so it's a blast... but some of it can get rough for the lil Dart, she runs amazing on smooth water though, and slow going and proper positioning gets through the rough stuff for the most part.

Pictures as promised:

Skiing no problem even with three people in the boat.

Was running 45 km/h with 4 people in the boat this weekend most times unless it was rough/going into the wind.

More pics of the boat actually running to follow when I get them from my sister's camera.

Hey man, looks like you're havin all kinds of fun with your Dart! Unfortunately, it's lookin like I won't be able to splash mine for the first time this season, however, I have plenty of work to do on it. One project is drilling out and replacing rivets in the bottom, and re-riveting where the bow connects to the gunwales at the dash corners. After that, I'll be focusing on decking and seats. I'm curious to know if you still have the original deck in yours, and would love to see how it's configured. I have a plan for mine that will give me some flat surface area without losing too much gunwale height, I'm guessing Starcraft had the same or similar design....

By the way, during searches for Dart pics, I found this little gem posted by an iboats user:

Hey been a while since I checked this thread (clearly lol). Sorry the boat is up at the cottage sleeping in the snow right now so I can't take any pictures or check anything out for you. By original deck do you mean flooring? I don't think there ever was a floor in these guys, just the aluminum hull exposed in mine (part of why I loved it, literally nothing to rot other than the transom).

Hi Gryph. Yeah, boats don't have "floors" they have decks, or soles. Some of these old runabouts had a level floor installed, while others where bare hulls like yours and mine. It's mostly a matter of preference if you have one, or not. However, having a deck does allow you to fill the space below with foam which is a nice safety addition. Sorry the boat is hibernating right now. Not to worry, Spring will be here before you know it. It's already here in FL. It was 80F here in FL today.
