I think you'll find that most guys around he use either US Composites or Clarkcraft. If you have money to burn West System is great too!

im trying to do it as cheap as possible, so far i have $125 into it lol... besides the $350 i paid for the boat and trailer. my deck is gonna be epoxied (with whatever is suggested, hopefully its cheap) then painted then carpeted with marine carpet... im new to ALL of this so like i have said before i need the help. I will be using MDO ply for both deck and transom and foam board under the deck. I will go with US composites if its good.

Is there a certain kind of the epoxy or just a 2 part is good?

thanks for all the reply's again fellas it helps a TON

In my opinion, if you are going with MDO, you really don't need to epoxy the plywood surfaces. You really only need to seal the edges and anywhere that you put in fasteners or make holes. The stuff is designed for outdoor signs, it holds up very well. I used it on my boat for the floor, I just painted the edges , caulked the seams and then painted the floor with oil based floor paint with anti skid sand mixed in. Done :)

All epoxies are 2 part, US Composites is very good to work with, if you aren't sure what you need they are very helpful on the phone to steer you toward the proper product for your application.
Have fun!

sorry i haven't posted in a few fellas. I haven't done anything new to the boat lately because of 60+ hour work weeks... i will be putting in the new decking, foam under and transom in the next few weeks here i will take pics of progress throughout for all to see. Then it will be onto the casting deck and steering console, then lights and electrical :)

Re: 1966 16' aluminum starcraft Jupiter

Well, I am thinking about selling this boat and trailer as is. If u read through the thread and look at pics that is were it stands right now. I don't think I am gonna have enough time to do anything o it for a awhile nor the funds as my wife and i just found out we are having a baby. It has a fresh paint job inside and out on the boat (done right with aluminum primer and extensive cleaning) and the trailer has been blasted and freshly painted as well but needs lights installed.

There is no floor in the boat or anything else. It has been gone through with gluvit and i have added extra bow strength plus rivits and gunnel.

LMK if anyone is interested in the boat and trailer.

Thanks
