I'm thinking about buying a fixer-upper but have no idea what kind of cost I'm looking at. Of course, I plan to pay for a survey but a survey will really only tell me what's wrong, not how much it'll be to fix it.

It's a 1966 57' Connie. From what I know, the engines and generator are in good shape. It's mainly a cosmetic problem. The outside wood is either sun-damaged or rotted. They tell me the bottom has been painted in the last three years but the hull is peeling and needs some replacement planks. The deck has been fiberglassed and will need to be covered with teak. The inside just needs updating and cleaning with some stripping and revarnishing. My main concern is I need a ballpark on how much it'll cost to refurbish the outside.

Also, what's a fair price for a boat this size in the shape it's in? And, does anyone know what this boat sold for originally in 1966?

Thanks for your help!
