In the New Improved Photobucket You go into your account and then go to album settings, and then Upload Options. The new iBoats server allows you to set pics @ 1024x768

Re: 1966 Duo Restoration

Well that makes it a lot easier.
Here's a picture of my transom. I used woven roven and epoxy resin to laminate. The woven roven was probably not necessary but I thought it might add strength. The old transom was not made that way but it only held a little 35hp Merc. Before I lost my job I was planning on getting a new 60hp Merc. Im still planning on getting one at a later date but for now when boat is finally complete the old 35 is gonna have to go back on. Ok, so still no picture yet. Gonna have to work on this a little for now. Getting a message that image is either invalid or too large. I'll keep trying.

Boat006.jpg There we go. Not exactly the way I wanted it posted but it's there anyway.

As you can see here I used a scrap piece of plywood and 2x4, 2x6 boards to clamp transom in place.

The bad thing is I was a little sloppy and got epoxy on my nice new paint job so now I'll have to re sand and repaint the stern.

Here is a couple pictures of all the hairline cracks I was talking about in an earlier post.

A lot of sanding and several coats of VC Performance Epoxy paint and now it looks good as new except for where I messed up and got epoxy on it.

Transom is in but I ran out of epoxy so I didn't get it fully glassed in yet.

Ok well I still haven't been able to finish the transom yet so I decided to start on the top. I bought this stuff from iboats that so far is doing an excellant job at removing the oxidation and restoring the color. One Step Compound no.67, 32oz - Meguiar's. After I'm done with that I'm going to polish it with High Gloss Boat / RV Polish no.45, 16oz - Meguiar's then wax it with Flagship Premium Marine Wax no.63, 16oz - Meguiar's
