Hey Everyone,

Now that I have my lower unit all repaired, carb, fuel pump rebuit and all the little things back in place, I'm looking for some suggestions to get it to idle decent. A local boat shop who did a quick tuneup mentioned he could go through it all for like $600 and get it back to how it was (Yea, right...) As I mentioned I have done the following:

Lower Unit rebuild
Carb rebuild
Fuel Pump rebuild
timing set and carb adjusted (By boat shop)

It still seems like it idles allot rougher than it did 3 or 4 years ago and the throttle shifter needs to be pushed a bit to keep it running. I checked the compression and they are all 95-100 psi. Fuel pump seems to be putting out ok with a good pulsing stream when I disconnected the fuel line from the carb.

What other tests can I do to see if I have some sort of air leak or things I might check?

Thanks,

Robert

Did you remove the core plug on top of the carb and clean the idle circuit?

Sadly enough I didn't, but after looking at my parts diagram it looks like there are two as listed at:

Are those what you are referring to?
