First, props to sticky for the thread on what year is my motor. Looked and found the serial and used links to find age. Good job mate. Now my question, I have taken in the project of another person to set their wiring straight. The boat is a 70's Mark Twain, doesn't really matter, as the motor is a 1966. The steering cable stuck and chopped off, gear lever cable in bottom of boat and external plug reduced down to about 6 inches. Original start gear selector from boat in pieces with a different start stop selector said to be for it in bottom of boat. I have found another cable or the original for the boat, but need schematic that shows what each wire of plug is for and the color or strand. Anybody know where, or if they have a schematic they can copy for me? I have found a manual for the motor, but will take owner a little while to get. Thanks Bob:cool:

Thanks for the help, this is exactly what we needed. At least now I now I can wire his harness and see if the engine will crank over. Do you know where I can find a parts brake down for the lower unit. The owner for some reason took it off and now it doesn't go right back on snugly. I don't think he has the rods turned right to fit back together. Thanks Tim. Also the steering cable is stuck in the sleeve atop the transom bracket, in the tube. Someone cut it off. Can I take the tube off without removing the motor from the boat?
Think If I remove the tube I can take it in the shop and get the rest of the cable out.
