Hi,
I have started to restore a 1966 Searay srv 17 outboard.
I have begun compounding the hull with an orbital polisher and med compund.
It is a blue green color and very faded.
The pad that came with the buffer loads up way to often and does not bite enough.
Does anyone know the best buffing pad to use (wool, etc.) ?

The boat is really sharp and I want to bring back the shine.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Re: 1966 Searay restoration

On my Imperial{sold this spring} I used 'Shurhold Buff Magic Compound Pads' found at Home Creepo...I also used the 3m hand pads {red-multi purpose & grey which has a medium bite imo}...I felt I had better control with the hand pads, don't ask me why lol,..... probably cause I tend to burn thru using power
