1966 Starcraft Holiday Refresh

Well to start off I got this boat two years ago. I had an old glass tri-hull with a 105 chrysler on it. That thing liked it's fuel a little too much. So it got traded in on this boat. It used to belong to an old catfishing buddy of mine that passed away and I was fortunate to end up with it. The carpeting was wore through and the wood was getting in bad shape and the transom had been fixed with lots of silicone. So this winter I have started the process of freshening the ole gal up a bit. Plans as of now is to replace the floor wood and have it covered in spray on truck bed lining. The transom is also being replaced. Going to do a little rewiring as most of it is a general mess. Don't think a paint job will happen at this time. As i tend to beat it up a little at times. This boat is a fishing boat mostly used for catfish tournaments. I love the open room in the back of them. Works great for what I use it for. Looking around on here you guys make it look so easy to work on these starcrafts. Sorry for the blurry pics was using my phone.

It is an 18 footer. Sure wish it was a 22 so I would have 4 more feet of room to pile more stuff into.
It is amazing how well they clean up with the removal of some rotten old wood.

Looks like another great project and I'll be watching this one. The new transom end caps should fit fine (looks like they'll ship Sat). Let me know if you decide to shorten your splashwell, I have a new head board that I don't need and can ship them all at once (I'll throw in a Starmada hat too). I did my well and if I can do it you shouldn't have any problem at all.

Howdy Jason from Zanesville. Love that area of Ohio. Nice start on the rebuild. Gitten right after it. She'll give ya lots of fun. Is that a stock tank up there in the bow? Good location for it. Gonna check it for leaks? Good idea while you have it exposed. Safety first, they say.

A little update on my project. The floor and transom are cut, resin coated, and installed. Also ran a new fuel line the old one looked decent but sure dont want to pull the floor in a few years to fix it. I have an appointment next wednesday at the LineX dealer to have the floor and side panels sprayed. Now I am just waiting for that to be done so I can start on doing a little rewiring and putting it back together. I did get my new transom corners in the mail today from MichaelP. Boy they almost look too pretty to put on this old boat. Thanks again Mike for providing those elusive pieces for us. Here is a few pics of the progress.

Did you reuse your old foam under the deck? I have been debating if i should reuse mine, or some of it and buy some new.

Yes I did reuse my old foam. It was a little wet and dirty but still in good shape. After it sit over night most all of it was dry.
