Not even close to NB's painstaking rebuild, that MIGHT come at a later time, just trying to get her dunkled this year.

OK Rhodey! First-Everyone does their thing at different levels. I went overboard and we all know it. I'm happy just to see you working on the sister vessel. Where did you get that motor box?

Most everything is coming off a mid-80's glass donor boat.....

Clark you know you can't beleive what those northerners tell you...

All very fishy!! All I know is I get 34 mph at 4500 rpm with a 19 pitch - 44 mph you would need a 23 or a 25

My wife always said she could use more pitch.....

Re: 1966 Sunchief Restore II- In the Beginning

Honestly don't know squat about the prop but will check out pitch tomorrow morning. Damn thing went so fast I was actually a bit concerned for safety's sake:eek: In fact I am very naive about the entire concept as pertaining to desired RPM's at WOT, fuel economy and hole shot etc etc. I could care less about going that fast if i could improve overall fuel economy and maintain proper RPM's for longer life of the 3.0l. Please advise.....
Bimini and some moldings tomorrow along with a few odds and ends.
Sounder/Transducer and VHF soon.

Rhody, you should be running at 44-4800 rpms at WOT and anywhere between 30-35 mph The rpms are more important than speed. You don't want your prop to be holding the motor back.
