I recently rebuilt the carb and I'm trying to to tune it in but it is hard to do when the motor is already spitting and spuddering? What would the spark plugs look like if I have a fouled plug?

if the plug is fouled it will be all wet and covered in crap. clesn em up with some B-12 and a wire brush and see if it helps. did you try tweaking the idle mixture to smooth it out?

Have you checked for spark at all cylinders? I wouldn't fiddle with the carb until you have some idea of what the problem is. Troubleshoot first then fiddle.

it was the coil. Once I got a closer look at it I saw the coil casing was cracked and splitting apart.
