Scook1..... 80793R is indeed a 1967 80hp Johnson. That inspection plate on the side of the exhaust housing (roughly about a foot below the powerhead) has to be there.

Yes there is a plate there and a second one behind it but no wires the only thing in there is two copper pipes and the drive shaft and the shifting shaft

Scook.... There wouldn't be any wires in there as you have a manual shift lower unit. You DO NOT have a electric shift lower unit. Reread my first post about the brass shift connector.
