I have a 1967 Evinrude Lightwin it has a tank on top and a fuel pump so I can switch between them, it has been running like new. Recently I went fishing in the boat and it ran well all day. A couple of days later I ran it in the bay and was heading up to a river when it began running rough, I didn?t know what it was so I turned around to go back to the ramp which was about 2 miles away. Soon after I turned around it quit. I squeezed the bulb and primed it and it started up all the way back to the ramp I had to squeeze the bulb constantly to keep it running. A couple days later I took it to a fresh water pond to flush it out. When I plugged the tank in a lot of gas came out first time that ever happened. I primed it and it started right up and ran I still had to pump it suddenly it started running on it?s own without me squeezing the bulb. Well I took it back to the launch and took it hope. The next time I tried to start it gas didn?t shoot out of the tank at all it primed but I couldn?t get it to start. I switched to the other tank put gas in and nothing, Sounds like the fuel pump and possibly something else?
