Re: 1967 Evinrude Lower Unit Questions
Great help guys. Hopefully once I get this thing tuned right I won't leak and smoke as much out on the lake. My brother is epileptic and carbon monoxide can set off a seizure. I can't wait to see my neighbhor's face when I decarb the engine. He's about 200 years old and comes running to the door whenever I bring my boat back home because he thinks I'm going to touch his grass with my trailer. I've read some other threads about decarbing and they mention a nasty looking sludge that starts dripping out when this is done. Where should and shouldn't that nasty stuff be leaking from?
I'm stuck going to the inlaws this weekend and won't be able to work on my boat. It's driving me crazy. So much to do, so little good weather left.
I always heard that boats were a lot of work and expensive to maintain. I'm a believer! I can't help but chuckle now when I read someone's post saying they got a boat for "free".
