Dude, remove and file down your points until there are NO pits and reset at .020 and I bet you're done. I'd check coils and all that, but it sounds like dirty points.

i got some pictures the one on the tool box, (coil) is smooth while the one on the motor still has little grooves on it. I checked the points does not look like any pitting. There are also two little cracks in the insulation on the coil on the tool box.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like the coil has been rubbing on the flywheel, has center section polished down. Does the inside of the flywheel look like it has been rubbing?

yep, i think thats whats happening it is polished down, i ordered a new one today. But if its caused by the flywheel then is the flywheel bad? bent cam shaft? suggestions??

Probably removed at some point and reinstalled improperly. there is a little room for coil adjustment to keep it close but not rubbing the flywheel.

its seems to be hitting on both cylinders i pulled the spark plug and still idles fine. and there is a noticable difference when its in gear than in neutral. so i think theres good compression.

I agree that it is probably running on one cylinder, they run very smoothly that way which is deceiving. I have had a bad spark plug before, so you may want to swap plugs top to bottom to see if the 'strong cylinder' moves with the plugs, or just replace them.

The quote above had me asking questions of myself, however. It should pull over just barely more difficult in gear, compared to in neutral. If it is a 'noticable' difference, you may have some binding in the lower unit. Try turning the flywheel by hand with the spark plugs removed both in gear and out of gear to see if there is any friction or binding.

i replaced both spark plugs, i just ordered a new coil so im waiting on it. I checked the difference between forward and neutral with the plugs out and i can't tell any noticable difference between the too. very smooth so i dont believe there is any binding in the lower unit ( i just put it all back together with new lower unit oil). I guess the real test will be when i get the new coil in, and check it on the water.
