I have a good running 67' johnson 20hp but I would like to modify the cooling port to exit the engine through a pee hole like a more modern engine. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do? I have a bad back and sometimes its hard for me to turn and look around the motor to make sure its cooling correctly(meaning water exiting through the exhaust port).

I have found a good spot to put the indicater tap, but i'm having trouble removing the water jacket and i'm wondering if it would be ok to install the indicater while the water jacket is in place?

Removing the water jacket? Huh? You mean the head?

That's one of the 22 cube engines and only weighs 77 lbs. An excellent weight to hp engine.

No not the head, the water jacket. The head and water jacket cover are two pieces on this engine.
