I know this is little to go on and I'm impatiently waiting on my clymers manual to get here, but I can get the thing to turn over all day but it is not firing, in fact I don't even smell gas. Should I?

The person I got it off of said that it stopped on him last year in the same manner while skiing. So he changed the starter, but did not start it he just turned it over.

I just need to be pointed in the right direction until my manual gets here.

Not much to go one. Remove the airbox on the carb throats if there is one and squirt some pre-mix into the carb throats. If it fires you have a fuel issue, probably carbs that need to be rebuilt. If it doesn't fire, pull the plugs and check for spark. By then your manual will have arrived and you will be able to read up on it a little.
