single solenoid ,electric motor runs in the up & down position , disconnected all hydraulic lines from cylinders & filled reservoir .
Ran pump in the down direction & nothing comes from lines. Ran pump in up position , little air & spit then started to flow nicely from lines but then went to spitting air & milky oil (very low volume) which remains that way for now. Still nothing from down..Motor runs in both directions but nothing from down lines. I read the manual which was thankfully posted the other day & not sure were to start. Kept filling the reservoir thinking it would clean the line but after several attempts no luck just spitting. All help appreciated..

Be careful when screwing the cylinder hoses back on the transom plate. I once stripped out the plate on a 1969 Mercruiser 140, and it was a major (expensive) problem solved by my dealer. Mercury later redesigned the hoses and transom plate where the trim hoses are essentially "universal."

Thanks, yes very careful with line connections. Read were somebody was having a similar problem & it was gummed up screens & blocked. Are they speaking of inside the reservoir?

Having a similar problem. I own a 1967 Starline Deville and I one of the rams/cylinders is leaking. I found an old Marina here in Stuart, Florida and they have one in stock. $150.00

I'll start a dedicated thread for it...

Gotta love dumb luck. Having the same problem on the same outdrive, today. Thank you, Don S, for the link. Good luck, Charliez.
