Looks like I should have a plate under the cavatation plate, I don't. Smooth and painted. No hole in the top for screw access either. Wondering if someone removed all this and faired over then painted? Or maybe I'm missing something. It looks like a zinc collar just behind the prop nut but I've not found this anywhere on-line for an older mercury 20. Considering just attaching an external bar anode somewhere similar to OMC small outboards. A shame though because the mercury plate anode is pretty cool.

What is the full model number? If you have a serial number on it, I might be able to get more info off of that.

Okay, I found the serial number off one of your other posts.

Part 54 and 55 are for your anode plate.

Part 54, the anode plate, is Mercury part # 97-47820A1, though you get more Google results with 97-47820.

Part 55, the screw for it, is Mercury part # 10-29081

I hope this helps! Let me know if the parts look wrong. I'm 99% sure I found the right motor, but there is always a chance I am wrong.
