I live in somerset ky my house is about a 2 minute drive from the nearest dock at lake Cumberland.

Heck were practically neighbors, I'm up here in the Shawnee forest near Golconda IL and the mouth of the Cumberland, I do Ky lake about once or twice a summer...my boy use to ride the "M/V Cumberland Hunter" port of Nashville

Yeah that's not very far at all. Lake Cumberland has been really low for a long time now and it would be hard to find a place just to put a boat in around here but after all that rain a couple weeks ago they had to keep wolf creek damn shut to keep from flooding Tennessee further. The lake went way up above normal depth and fishing was awesome. Its going down now though. It was up long enough for every member of the Ohio Navy to come dawn for memorial weekend lol.

If its the same guys they are from Evansville Ind mostly, when they come down the river its a site to behold...20 + Baja's running full out, the wakes are just one solid chop lasting for 30 min or better. No fun to be out there with a air cooled outboard.

My wife wanted to go fishing that weekend lol. my little 12 ft boat would flip over the first time a big boat came through. I called discount marine and canceled my order. I just got a suzuki DT2 real cheap and it runs great. Its slow at 2HP but runs good lol. Do they make universal coils that i could put on the mcculloch?

Ok thanks i will do that. I just tested out the Suzuki and broke a shear pin and now its making grinding sounds. Boy don't i have the best of luck. At least i can find parts everywhere online for that thing and there cheap.

If you happen across someplace that has points for the suzuki spirit 5hp I know a guy that would be appreciative...those things are as scarce as hens teeth

www.brownspoint.com has every part imaginable for this DT2 have they already checked with them. Just found that site through google but you know where that got me the last time with the mcculloch.

You could try looking at a similar year Mcculloch long bar chainsaw. Mcculloch are really cheap here in the UK but the outboards are very rare.

If you have any condensers from another set of points spare try replacing it. Just about any automotive condenser will work. I replaced the one on the original and it works perfectly. The heat generated from these things is no wonder!
