I have good compression. Water pump looks good and clean and is pumping, no clogs. Just rebuilt the carb. Although the is a slight drip under the bowl. Filter screen is clean. Pump up the bulb, choke it, two pulls and it runs. After a short time at ideal or higher, it will start to slow and die. The bulb looses pressure (new bulb) but if you play with the choke it will run. At a higher rpm when it starts to slow you can keep it running by pumping the bulb. Could this be the fuel pump or is it the carb? The fuel pump runs on vaccuum/presure. The opening to the back shows the diaphragm, it springs back and forth nicely. Also there is at short in one plug wires where the spring that holds them in place poked into it. Can just the wire be replaced or will the coil need to be to? Thanks for any help! Rick

replace you whole fuelhose, if that does not help it, then it is a fuel pump problem :)

I agree with Sloopy, mostly.

Check your fuel hose and the fittings at both ends and at the bulb for air leaks. You may be able to cut it back and inch or so and reclamp it.

Make sure there are no resttrictions in the tank vent and the fuel pickup in the tank.

If all of that checks out, then overhaul your fuel pump.

Good luck. :)
