Hi all, I just bought a boat with a 1968 55hp Evinrude model 55873R. Anyways I am looking at it and I have noticed that it is missing a couple things. I am in need of the amplifier, probably a new wiring harness, a new control box possibly and lastly in dire need of fixing the throttle assembly as moving the levers does not move other throttle componenets that it is supposed to and also does not return to the correct starting position. i am pretty sure the lower unit is ok and compression is ok as there is descent resistance when turning the motor, but it seems like a lot of work. What should I do? Look at a semi newer motor on craigslist or something or is there a place that has cheap prices on the parts I need for this motor? Thank you
