I finally got the thing running better but i am not getting spark to the 3rd and 1st plug. First it was the third and i adjusted the points and now the 1st is out.No matter how i adjust the points i cant get it to fire on all four. Do you think i need new points or am i barking up the wrong tree. Are there points still available and the cam followers. Thanks for any advice you experts out there can give.

If all but one hole is fireing, the problem is likely not the points. (If you need points, search up SeaWay Marine in Washington State. They carry them. Ask for the factory seconds. They are half price of the "good" ones. The good ones are about $64 apiece.)

Check the inside of the distributor cap. There are four contact strips that can get burnt from arching between the rotor contact and contact strips. Gently scraping the build up off the contact strips will often get the cylinders firing again. Check the contact on the rotor also as it will get dirty also and a gentle cleaning here will help.

EDIT: You probably already know but point gap on this engine is .010.
