Its "joses machine shop" LM. SUpposely 15 years open. I dont know if u remember Branchs on Carroll st. well he came from there. I did some searching on this lock N stitch and imgetting good vibes, supposely is one of the best ways to fix cracks. The only thing didnt see was the coating of ceramic that Jose told me he would add for extra protection and sealant.

I haven't heard of Joses but Branch's was there for ever. If he came from that shop and has been open for 15 years it sounds like you are in good hands. Sounds like you have a plan to save the old motor. Good job.

This is not the best way to go at it, but since I plan on changing engines later down the road it wouldnt make sense to spend a fortune on this engine. Just as long it gets me through at least this season.

Since the engine was getting repaired i spent some time on putting the exhaust tube and messing with my sandblaster.

I will explain im my next thread.

As some of you know I have the Harbor Freight sandblaster. Everybody has had problems with the cabin sandblasters. But after messing with it all day, i figured it out!! Let me explain.... this is the type of gun I have.

MAH007741.jpg

and black Diamond for media from Northern Tool. I was blasting with the gun upside down to see if it would make a diffrence when I realise that the media wouldnt get sucked. I took the hose off and the media would just sit here (see pic) when the trigger aT FULL blast (and gun upside down).

MAH007742.jpg

Media was stuck. Of course this very course media, but I also used fine glass beads and it was doing the same. So i took the end of the gun apart.

MAH007745.jpg

Took the ceramic end out.

MAH007747.jpg

Inside the gun is this insert.

MAH0077413.jpg

This insert is part of the air feed passage and it meets with the suction passage where vacuum is created. U see where the allen wrench hits the insert in the gun...

MAH0077410.jpg

Well the media would get clogged there. For some reason course or fine media would get stuck here. So,,, I took the insert & grinded it to give more passage without loosing vacuum.

This is what the insert looks like after grinding it.

MAH0077411.jpg

Installed the insert back in,,, and now u see the extra space. (allen wrench pointing at the insert.)

MAH0077416.jpg

Put everything back together. What a diffrence!! I even lowered the psi to 80. And I even took all restrictions from the media feed hose, ( in other forums it is suggested to plug or restrict the media feed hose so you can prevent clogging or the surging effect.). SO now at full throttle I get a constant stream of media!! This is beautiful man!

This would usually take 40mins. It took 15 at most. I am one happy camper. I might even see if i can improove on this but it works just fine.

The sealing washers crapped out on mine. It blasts full out alll the time. I just installed a cut off valve in the supply line. Much cheaper than buying a good gun.

Man I had so many disapointments with this sandblaster in the begginig. I have read where some people would add a valve like u did Proshada and it would work good. I like the hand grip personally. But I was looking into a foot pedal.

Foot pedal would work so much better. I have to hold the gun with one hand and shut the valve with the other. Kinda stinks but it usable.

This is for Proshada..
Got me some 2000F primer to paint my pretty engine blue. Prepared my parts by cleaning them with mineral spirits.

MAH007771.jpg

and sprayed them with the rustoleum high heat primer.

Alzo I couldnt bear to put that ride in the water, its going to be to clean. Maybe put it with JK's Baylinner in my living room. You, Alpheus, and JA are really taking boat building up a few hundred notches.

C'mon now Pro, take a look at his thread... he is just a show off. Just because he strips & paints a beautiful boat. Then he has to be particular about everything he does, which is only an excuse to buy more tools, and pretends like he dosen't know what he is doing. LOL he don't fool me none. Why I wish...

I wish...

I wish my jealousy and envy didn't show so much:facepalm:
As always Azlo, great work Bro. Speaking for myself, I can't wait 'till you get her dirty.;)

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

Since we are on the topic on tools I have decided to get a big bilge pump. Looked on ebay and found a Johnson 4000. Gentlemen that 4000 is for gallons per minute!!!! Mates,, I dont want to drown. Im making sure that when if there is a leak I can at least make it to the sore. Got it today and.....well this thing is HUGE.!!

Thats a quarter in front.

MAH0078011.jpg

Just look at how bigg the thru hull fitting is.

MAH007809.jpg

Yeeeeaaaaah, Im gonna have to post a video once I intall it.

Good grief. For a boat the size of yours that is huge. Did it come with that thru hull fitting? I'd be filling a bucket and hooking up a battery just to see that thing work.
