Hello. I have an opportunity to buy the above motor. It is said to be in excellent shape and running. It comes with extra impeller, shear pins, plugs, tank and hose. Not sure if he has manuals or not. The asking price is $200.00 Is this a good price to pay for it? Thanks, Rick.

Yes, I'd buy that if it is truly in good running condition. Check the compression if you want to feel reassured that the motor is in good running condition as opposed to just running condition.

I agree. If it's as described. RUn it for you in a barrel?? Pumping water good? Idling smooth? But then again, you can't tell a lot until you get it on the water on a boat. THen you'll find out if it'll hold gear and hit on both cylinders.:)

Sounds like a reasonable price to me. I have two of these 6 HP motors, both slightly newer. I paid 250 for one and 325 for the other. Around this area, they usually sell for around 300 or less, but in spring can fetch 350.
