I have just aquired this little motor, which was in a garage for over 15 years without running. I put gas in it and it started after just a few pulls. I am not noticing any water coming out the exhaust ports, so I think I'll change the impeller. Is this easy to do on these little motors? I've changed an impeller on a different outboard once before. Also, does anyone know what type of lower unit gear oil this motor requires?

Thanks,

The pump probably is about as easy as it gets. Remove lower unit, change pump, reinstall lower unit. If it has a stainless steel pump liner, make sure it isn't deformed. Those motors put out a very small amount of spray, sometimes hard to detect.

Gear oil is regular 80-90 weight Outboard Gear oil.

I have one of these and FR is right. They only put out a spray. Hold your hand by the holes and you can tell. Good luck and those are fun little motors. Mettyfish
