has anyone ever torn into a trigger assembly for this motor? the wires on mine were coroded all the way to the "horseshoe" and into the insulation. I replaced the wire insulation all the way to the trigger but no fire afterwards. I believe that further inside the trigger insulation the coroded wires are shorting out.

I know that there are new and re-built triggers out there....and that i can have mine rebuilt for $250 to $300 but since I have managed to become unemployeed then re-hired this year, money is still very critical in my house. If there is even a slim possibility that I could rebuild this trigger myself...I will.

Does anyone have any knowledge what a trigger rebuild invloves? if there are no components inside the trigger insulation, it seems like i could remove the old insulation, solder new insulated wires on and pour epoxy resin back into the trigger horseshoe for insulation.

The trigger electronics are potted (epoxied) into place. There is no known
solvent to break down the potting. If you try to grind it away you will most likely grind a componant or connection. Sorry, but if your wires are bad/broken into the potting you are out of luck and will have to get a rebuilt unit.
