Ok I was looking at a 68 starcraft. it needs a complete tare down. at first they said they were selling because of too many boats. I thought what a great find and I guess it kind of is, I really like the look of this boat. they have about 200 lbs of weight in the front, they say its needed when trolling. it sits on a home made trailer no breaks, and looks kind of heavy. but no a real problem with that. they also said they bought this boat two years ago from a guy who had the motor rebuilt and then forgot to drain the water when winter hit and cracked the block, when they discover that they put one of those gunkes in it, it helps but still water get into the oil. so basically its had it in my mind. they want 2800 for it I know there not going to get it if the person is aware of the motor problem. So my question is what do you think its worth.

Basically you are looking at a hull with a busted motor and unknown outdrive along with a questionable trailer. Without seeing it - $500-$700 tops. They see gold. $2800 is near top dollar for a running, good shape boat. What model is it and where is the boat located, which will affect the price? Good luck Beagle.

Well I think they were hoping that someone would buy it without starting it. It would be fun to rebuild her but I'm not willing to go broke over it. It is a 68 Starchief the hull is in great shape. Were up here in Vernon BC Canada. Because its a I/O Im only going to offer him 800. I think when they discover not to many people are will to buy something without seeing it run. they will call me back.
