about to pick one up to use on a canoe, 100 bucks I think I got a decent deal, any advice on oil to gas mix? I am sure these where set to run on leaded gas, is that gonna be an issue?

Loos to be a 4% fuel/oil-mix one. Leaded gas on a 2-stroke is not needed.

I have the same motor and mine still has most of the original sticker clinging to the gas tank. It says to use a 50:1 mix.

I use that ratio with a modern TCW-3 oil and 87 octane unleaded - so far so good.

Thanks! Want to drain the lower unit oil, however I can not find the vent screw, did this model just have the drain and not a vent? I have a shop manual on the way but just wanna get started

No vent screw on this one - just a single screw that acts as both fill and drain. I just tilted the motor over the oil pan and propped the powerhead up with a toolbox so that the hole was the lowest point. Drained everything out, flipped it over so that the drain was the highest point, and filled it up again.
