possible?? just picked this motor up and now i think its too big. i am a wood worker and a good transom might handle it. suggestions
There's a lot more involved in handling horsepower than a strong transom. Your Feathercraft is likely older than 1968, as I think they were done by the early 1960s. That means you've got 40+ years of the aluminum working, loosening, stretching, contracting, etc. I've seen a lot of Feathercrafts with cracked stringers - likely due to to hard of an alloy used back in the day...
had to buy the 91 25 hp yamaha for 300. but it turned out to be a long shaft so i traded it staight up for a 2007 merc. 8 hp 4 stroke short shaft. what a deal. are these little 4 strokes as tough as the 2 strokes?
