I need some definitive opinions on a couple of issues so I'm coming here. I have researched this site and internet in general and have come to no one finite answer to my questions...

1.) My motor ('69 70 hp 7071/5145) has three (3) WB8A Carbs on her. The top one was damaged and could not be repaired so I got my hands on three (3) WB9B carbs. Should I replace all of my original carbs with the three different ones I bought (They will be cleaned and re-built, etc.) or can I replace my top original carb with on the ones that I acquired ? Anything I should be aware of in the swap?

2.) Can I run modern style plug wires on my Magnapower points/coil style ignition? I've read yes and no, so what's the real CORRECT answer and why? (I want to replace my current 42 year old wires, but want red wires not the usual black, and that leads me to my question above!)

Thanks in advance

Since you have all three carbs, and since Mr. Monk is my mentor, replace all three with the WB9B. It IS possible to mix and match carbs, but it is not good practice.

As far as wires, the correct wires are solid core stranded wires. I Have never tried automotive fiber core wires and can not tell you if they would work. Don't racing wires come in red and have solid cores?
