1969 buick 225 oddfire

My distributor is finally taking a crap in the family boat. I know I can rebuild whats there but was wondering is there a drop in hei available? I have Googled and can't find anything marine without vacuum advance. Any help would be great.

Unlikely. I suspect the Aftermarket will be focused mainly on the Chev SB and BB, along with some Ford engines.

There isn't a marine HEI distributor for the 225.

However Davis Unified Ignition makes one for a jeep. You could contact them to see if they can make you a pricey one-off marine distributor.

Cant you get an optical kit to replace points/condenser . I know that Crane used to have a one fits all . I have a 4 cyl one in my Capri

I can get that. My springs and everything are tired on my advance. I was hoping to not mess with them.

If the Springs are tired, the weights and pins are also likely worn, which all together affects the Rate of Advance as well as the Total Advance. The pricey One-off Marine Distributor with the correct Timing Curve might be the better choice

Oh definitely the reason I was hoping just to find an hei! Is Marine distributor a website then or were you just being in general?

they also make marine units.

they currently do not make a marine odd-fire buick dizzy.

you would have to call them, and ask if they will make you a one-off.

it may be cheap. it may be really really really pricey.

Perhaps they could Marinize an Automotive GM Odd-fire HEI Distributor for your needs

These odd fire engines were made by chopping 2 pots off their V8 engine (they are a 90⁰ V6 ) .
I have spent some time and the only thing I can find is a points dizzy off a early jeep commando ..... or as Scott says ...a DUI hei dizzy .

I wouldn't mind the points distributor off of the Jeep but won't that be a vacuum advance?
