! have a 1969 55HP model 5575 S/N 1710, I posted a note in December about needing to reseal lower end and got a reply that NAPA had the seals I should ask for their outboard Catalog. I did that and their catalog only covers back to 1972. I tried a couple of online Outbaord stores also with the same result. Any idea where I can get new seals or a seal part number for the seals for the lower end. (I believe there is an upper and lower seal.)<br />HELP1

Re: 1969 Chrysler 55HP Lower end

Quick silver number 26-820645A kit should work. Mercury sells them. The lower unit seal kit is standard on 35-55 HP chryslers through the late 70s. This is for a two piece lower unit. Mine is a 1967 45HP chrysler and the 55HP lower unit I got on ebay is the same. The only gasket that you will need apart from the ones in the kit is the gasket between the lower and upper unit. Email me at ralgoetz@comcast.net and I can cut you one from gasket paper. I dont think these gaskets are availible anymore. I have a spare one that I use as a template then use removable permatex on both sides of the gasket.
