The screen was kind of crushed up and not really fit for service in my opinion. There was a build up of corrosion behind the screen, on the walls of the tube too. I very carefully drilled out the plug. It's just soft aluminum. Hopefully I'll slide in a new screen and tap in a new conical plug without too much fuss. Wish me luck! The parts are pretty cheap to be honest. I only did this because there's no info on the screen and plug anywhere. I have the book and all the exploded views for the motor but no mention of servicing /replacing those parts.
