hey folks,
Recently rebuilt the starting system, everything is good there.
Put it in the water for the first test today since the rebuild.
first 10 minutes were perfect, went to turn around and head back to the dock area and lost any momentum at speed. when a little above idle we were still moving.
give it any gas and we instantly stop moving. engine is running fine but i can tell by the sound that it lost any load that was on it.
I just pulled the flywheel, the key looks ok, i will pickup another today just to compare them. and keep a spare since they are $4.
I am able to spin the prop in gear (with moderate resistance) while holding the flywheel. so i think i have zeroed in on the area to look at.
so my question becomes, am i on the right track? and besides the sheer pin at the prop and the flywheel key, what else may have broken that i should be checking?
I'm off all this week so looking forward to hammering this out with some guidance.
Thanks,
Steve
