The motor will run fine in a bucket W/O the prop on the the shaft but when is on the motor will not stay running i need some help thanks.

nath ien,<br /><br />Is the hub of the prop clear? Can you see though it?<br /><br />A prop should not cause that much backpressure.

Nathien...<br /><br />Djohns is right on the money here.<br /><br />We need to know some history here. Are you sayin that with the prop on and you put the engine in gear it stalls? Any outboard will you put in a garbage can or test tank with the prop on will run differently than being on the water. Please let us know how long you have had the outboard and if the problem is new or if you have "inherited" it. If you have ownded the engine for a while, when was the last tune up including compression test, carb over hauls and a general going over.
