Okay, I'm still working on the Jupiter!! Here are a couple of pics of the outboard I picked up for the boat. 65hp should be enough to get it up on plane, right? ;)

Okay - Here are a couple of pics of the new floor going in - 2 coats of resin underneath, and 1 coat on top, then 2 coats of oil-based enamel with some non-slip sand in the top coat.

More pics of the floor going in - last coat of resin on top. June 15th. Also got the seats washed - very useable for the next year or so!

Also got a tach and speedo mounted in a "custom" panel!

Looking good. A healthy 65 should push that boat great. I think you'll be quite happy with it.

Re: 1969 Jupiter Rebuild

June 19th - Got the floor painted - 2 coats of oil-based enamel, with sand in the final coat to break up the gloss finish.

July 1st - Got the doors put back under the splashwell. I had to refit a lot of the trim and sde panels because of the 5/8" floor instead of the 1/2" of the original. Came out nice, though.

More to come.

She is looking great. Will be a capable craft when you splash it.
Nice job on the rebuild and it's on budget, yes?

Re: 1969 Jupiter Rebuild

Actually, GLG, it is still on budget - I sold my 14 foot open boat with a 9.9 Mariner for more than enough to pay for this project. That was part of the reason for keeping the rebuild fairly simple - re-using whatever I could from the original layout.

July 6th - Got the topside painted - first coat, roll and tip - not perfect, but it will be acceptable.

More to come!
