A+ drawing KFA! Especially the stick captain. Here is my routing plan for future reference; should anyone else have this same question. It's really rather simple. Although, I haven't actually implemented and tested it yet. I don't expect any problems as long as everything lines up. I plan to attach the sheaves under the steering drum to the aluminum stringer. One on either side. I think simple w/accurate implementation = safe...

Are you planning on using a cable & pulley steering set-up? That's fine, I just couldn't quite make it out. If so, here's a great link to help you get it all set up. Your plans look good. I've seen others with similar set ups that worked well. Make sure there is plenty of tension stored in the lines, so they don't go slack on you while underway. Good luck.

kfa's drawing is much cooler, for the record.

Great project here! All I can say, is (use your best DeForrest Kelley (sp?) voice)..."Dammit, Mflutz, I'm a boat NOT a doctor!"

She's got new hull paint! After much trepidation in choosing the color - it came down to fate and what was available at my local West Marine outlet. I went with Interlux Hatteras Off White. It took a little more than a qt to put on two coats. Wet sanded with 320 grit between coats and shot final coat yesterday. It came out awesome using my HVLP sprayer. It helped to have experience with the gun from prior projects... Anyway here are some pics. As soon as she dries completely its time to flip her back upright and start on the deck.

Lookin' good mflutz! Feel free to swing on down and paint mine while you're at it :) It'll be time to flip her soon. Then she'll be a boat, and not just a hull. Keep us posted....

Nice job on the paint! My family had a 1965 Evinrude Ski Twin when I was a kid. Glad you've got electric start on it, it's a bear to rope-start! Also, you might want to start working out for when you have to tilt that beast up! :D Nice motor though, should move you along pretty good.
