If you have a metal housing use part number 0434424. And if your housing is plastic use part number 0763735. The one for the metal housing has the large vanes. The one for the plastic housing is smaller diameter and taller with short flapper like vanes.

Thanks again the plastic housing has the wrong part in it. just bought this for a small boat and rebuilding it ,pump fuel and water, change lube, inspect prop and pin etc. I can't see how the impellor could turn at all.

Your welcome. I had to take apart my 4hp to check which housing i had before ordering a new impeller. Your motor probably had a metal housing when new.

You can't go by part numbers marked on the part. Those are casting numbers. Yes, the 1969 did have the old aluminum pump housing and big impeller. However, the kit has been superseded by the plastic housing version, which became standard around 1972-ish. I like the plastic one better, so be glad. But you do have to use the correct impeller in it.

can the 0763735 be used with the plastic housing . or can 0434424 be used also as I was sent the o434424 part which is the shorter flapper

Part number 0763735 is .72 inches thick and 1.52 inches in diameter. And 0434424 is .5 inches thick and 2.7 inches in diameter. So I would assume the metal housing is larger in diameter than the plastic housing. If you do indeed have a plastic housing you need the 0763735 impeller.

you are correct I think. the part that was sent for my plastic housing was 0434424, made in Italy, EMP omc impeller 47-00585 replaces 18-3001 & 434424 It's approx 2-3/4 inches across center and 1/2 " thick. What the decision<<

If application has a plastic housing use impeller 0763735 instead. 0434424 is for metal pump housings. I copied this from another site.

Look on ebay for pump repair kit number 382797. It clearly shows the smaller diameter impeller with the plastic housing.
