Need help finding the year of my merc. The serial number does not match up with the right type of engine. It is a 3 cyl 65hp. The serial number is 7006303 and it is stamped on both the engine and next to the mounting bracket. The merc dealer thought that maybe the lower unit was off of a different engine but the number is also stamped on the engine block. Can anybody out there explain this.
