1970 14 foot ouachita fiberglass boat need info

i just bought a 14 foot fiberglass ouachitta built in 1970 and i was wondering how har dis it to fix minor leaks in the bottom and how i could put in a live well any information would be very helpful as is this is my first boat and i plan on fixing it and even doing a few modifications to it i plan on using it mainly in private ponds

i put the boat in a local pond the other day and stayed out aboutr 2-3 hours and it only had about 1-2 gallons of water around the drain plug but i an not sure how much was under the floor
i was wondering when i paint it if i could use regular automotive paint since it is going to spend most of its time on the trailer or does it really mater i don't have much investeded in the boat so far just $75 that is with the trailer it is my first boat and i am planning on making it last a while
