I have recently received a engine from a friend that I am positive needs alot of work. I am unable to turn the flywheel on top, nor can I turn the prop. I am almost positive the motor is in neutral. I am wondering what kind of parts would be needed to over haul an engine this old and whether it would be worth it? I was visiting oldmercs.com for parts, it seems rings and gaskets are cheap, but I am not sure what all a marine engine involves.. The starter works so that will knock 250 buck off :> Any input would be greatly helpful thanks.
