All the cooling water ends up going out with the exhaust to cool the exhaust. If you mean that water is coming out at the junction between the lower unit and the midsection, that would be normal. As a matter of fact, it's normal for many outboards that don't have a seal between the lower unit and midsection.<br />A tell tale normally only spits a tiny fraction of the cooling water. The rest goes down the leg with the exhaust.<br /><br />EDIT: Wayne and Thompy gave you better, expert answers. Ignore what I wrote and pay attention to what they said.
